WHAT’S MY STORY?
I thought you’d never ask.
First career move
On to UCLA
Majored in English Literature. Minored in confusion and fun. Landed a paying job on the Daily Bruin and met all the smart, funny and cool people on campus.
New York. New York
First job. Martin Landey Arlow, where I wrote fashion copy and loved every syllable of it. Then part of a “creative group” at Cunningham & Walsh. Grey, for about five minutes, and off I went to LA.
West Coast
Worked at McCann Erickson and Doyle Dane Bernbach in LA, then J. Walter Thompson in SF. Did a lot of television and some of my best work. Won Beldings, a couple of Clio nominations, Best in the West, an International Broadcasting award and One Show awards.
Free at Last
Started my own creative services business, and here I am to this day, living and working in Marin County, and loving the clients I work with.
Uh oh. What was that about a website?
About 10 years ago, I landed a long term gig with Kimpton. Writing copy and doing project management for their corporate site and individual hotel sites. Probably the most healthy, high-functioning organization I’ve ever been part of. I loved working with those awesome people on their iconic, digital brand and getting deeply immersed in website writing, project management and design.
So What Now?
Following my Kimpton years, I was brought in to name and brand a new impact investing company, working with three smart, wonderful, dedicated clients. Then I wrote their first website and put together the team to produce it. I thought, “Hmmm, we could do more of this. We could find smart, innovative people who want to make the world work for everyone.”
So, if that sounds like you, we should talk. You’re going to need a great website, a content marketing strategy, SEO, and a lot more work with me and my teams that will make your world go 'round.

“Creativity is often in short supply regardless of the profession. In the creative professions, where the search for a distinguishing perspective succinctly expressed and clearly written is in high demand, it is often more elusive. Not the case with Leslie Lawton. She brings to her trade not only the desire to craft a written voice that speaks eloquently on behalf of her clients, but the ability to do so, masterfully and consistently.” More +
